Here you will find crafts for the Pinterest™-challenged. That's right. It means if I can do them, so can you as I have no artsy-fartsy talent whatsoever!
Not bad for my first attempt if I do say so myself...but there was a lot of improvising going on let me tell you. This is where I started:
I knew I didn't want to use the printed burlap that they show in the instructions above and I didn't care for the other prints they had to offer so I decided to switch to their 5 1/2" mesh ribbon and pop some much-needed color into the wreath. I ended up using two rolls of burlap garland ($6.99 each at Michael's). While I was making my second trip to the store to pick up said second roll of burlap, I picked up a second color of the mesh ribbon - the orange - to add to it. It was on sale, so I couldn't resist! And no, we are not Denver Broncos fans. I didn't really see that correlation in colors until it was hanging on my door. Oh, well. I still love it!
The other improvisation came in making the "two-loop" bows as instructed. What the heck is a two-loop bow and how do you make it? I couldn't find the instructions for that little tidbit anywhere on the Michael's website. Nor could I find any that I could understand and follow anywhere on the whole world wide web! Seriously. So I made two loops adjacent to each other and using the built-into-the-wreath frame twist ties just twisted around the middle of the length of both loops which were stacked on top of each other. Voilá! Both materials are very forgiving - lucky for me!
All in all, I probably have about $30 in it and I still have blue and orange mesh ribbon left over.
Have fun and craft on!
